Fresh wood chips from our daily work are available free on request – and stump grinding produces the same mulch-like chips, which you can keep or have us haul away at no extra charge, your choice at estimate time. Arborist chips are excellent mulch: a 3 to 4 inch layer suppresses weeds and holds soil moisture through the dry season.
Two tips if you keep them: let fresh grindings cool and age a few weeks before spreading, and keep mulch a few inches back from trunks, stems, and the foundation line.
